The Board discussed whether to blast track the entire top surface of
the garage or only those individual panels which need correction.
Barbara Rutstein, seconded by Barbara Schofield, moved that the entire
surface be done. There were no dissenting votes.
It was suggested by Jim Reidhead that a summary statement be issued to
dispel any lingering doubts about the safety of the garage by
explaining that the concrete problem was considered on a "worst case"
scenario which got progressively better.
The City departments in charge of maintenance of the parking facility
were identified: landscaping, Parks and Recreation; the garage,
Transportation Services; the office, Facilities.
Barbara Schofield, seconded by Ray Dixon, moved that the Board go into
Executive Session to discuss legal matters. Both Earl Wilkinson and
Art March withdrew from discussion. Chris Sholley of KCOL radio
requested notation of her serious concerns about the Executive
Session.
