HomeMy WebLinkAboutDowntown Development Authority - Minutes - 06/27/1985- DOWNTOWN � DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY 102 REMINGTON STREET, FORT COLLINS, COLORADO 80524 DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY Regular Directors Meeting June 27, 1985 The Board of Directors of the Downtown Development Authority met in regular session at 7:30 a.m., June 27, 1985 in the DDA Conference Room. There were present: Staff: Also: Earl Wilkinson, Chairman presiding Art March Jim Reidhead Larry Estrada Dave McCarry Ray Dixon Chuck Wanner Dan Larsen Barbara Schofield Bill Kingsbury, Executive Director Chip Steiner Jan Martin Greg Denton Tim Rubley Doug Madsen John Bosio Barbara Liebler John Schneiger Sherry Albertson -Clark Linda Hopkins John Arnold Earl Wilkinson called the meeting to order and asked for approval of the minutes of June 6. Barbara Schofield moved approval, seconded by Jim Reidhead. There were no additions or corrections. (303) 484-2020 PRESENT MINUTES • 0 Bill Kingsbury suggested to the Board that the contract with Madsen Western Builders be closed with the exception of $15,075 relating to the extra cost the DDA incurred with the concrete problems. Doug Madsen responded by saying that Madsen Western should receive the full amount since they had additional costs. After further discussion, Dave McCarry moved that Resolution 85-11 be tabled until an acceptable warranty is developed. Barbara Schofield seconded the motion. Motion carried 8 to 1 with Art March dissenting. The Board directed staff to negotiate further with Madsen Western Builders. The Core Area Plan was presented by Chip Steiner. Discussion followed. Barbara Schofield suggested changing the name to lessen any confusion. She also suggested developing a comprehensive map to show the plan simply. Barbara suggested the Board really work on the Core Area Plan at the retreat. Under other business John Arnold suggested that the DDA fund sidewalks along the Mason Street extension. Discussion followed, but no decision was made. Bill Kingsbury reminded the Board that the Annual Governor's Mainstreet Conference sponsored by the Colorado Downtown Development Association would be held August 7-9, 1985 in Grand Junction, Colorado. Ray Dixon brought up the paver situation downtown. He moved that the Board put pressure on the City requesting immediate attention to the problem. The motion was seconded by Art March and passed unamiously. Earl Wilkinson asked if a clock could be added to the conference room. There Xx/no �� buwAness, the meeting was adjourned. Arthur E.
