I. Call Meeting to Order
Chairperson Don Wells called the meeting, which was held at the DMA Plaza, to order at
1:30 p.m. A quorum was present.
II. Board gave a short presentation to the residents of DMA about the SAB and asked for
input from the residents:
A. Joyce Kremble asked if there is any way to keep the bikes and skateboards off the
downtown sidewalks. Marcia Richards explained that there are only three police
patrolling the Fort Collins area because of the budget.
B. Olive Morgan expressed concerned about senior trips being cut from the City budget.
Bud Herin said he didn't feel the day trips would be cut. Anita Basham said the
Senior Center Council had written a letter to the City Council reporting the
importance of the trip program. Marjorie McTaggart reported that the Office on
Aging has permission from the County Commissioners to write a letter to the Fort
Collins City Council backing all concerns about Dial -A -Ride. Dennis Kaz
encouraged citizens to take their concerns to their church pastors because churches
may have resources available.
C. Judy Curby was wondering why Transfort doesn't go the Heart Center and Super
Wal-Mart. Marjorie McTaggart explained the new policy between PVH and Dial -A -
Ride. Dennis Kaz will look into this issue. Judy is also upset about Comcast and
what she considers inappropriate programs on TV. Marjorie McTaggart is looking
into Channel 22 which is under a new management for possible alternative
programming.
D. Jim Nelson asked a question concerning the park fee. Is the City disguising the tax as
a fee?? A suggestion was made to contact his councilperson with that concern.
E. Olive Morgan reminded everyone, when you have a medical emergency call 911.
