EVSAG SWOT analysis.

In 2007 the EAC plans to work both on short term and long term objectives in order to
provide the Council with short term assessment functions and long-term strategy advice.
The EAC's 2007 Work Plan objectives are as follows:
Advise Council on existing or proposed plans, policies, practices or regulations of the
city that may affect the local economy
The EAC will assess and advise the Council on matters that are on the Council's agenda
How should we decide what to assess? Requests from Council though Mayor;
Recommendations from the Mayor and/or delegated EAC member based on Six Month
Agenda; Proposals from members?
What will be the outcome of the assessment? A white paper? An Economic Assessment
Document?
Study Regional Economic Trends — The EAC will study the local and regional economic
trends including analysis of economic threats to the regional economy.

Investigate City's Economic Opportunities — The EAC will provide the Council with
information about strategic opportunities for the City to enhance its long term economic
health and sustainability
The EAC will...
Coordinate with other City boards and commissions that are considering activities and
analyze those activities that impact the local economy.
The EAC will provide liaisons to the following other City boards and commissions

Originally stated mission of the EAC
To advise City Council on matters pertaining to the economic health and sustainability of
the city, including, but not limited to:
• Events and trends occurring outside the Fort Collins community that may affect
the local economy.
• Immediate and long-term threats to the local economy
• Ways in which to enhance the City's competitive position in relation to other
communities
• Possible partnerships with other public and private entities
• To recommend programs and strategies that may enhance the economic health
and sustainability of the city
• To be aware of and coordinate with other City boards and commissions whose
actions may affect the economic health and sustainability of the City
• To advise Council on existing or proposed policies, practices or regulations of the
City that may affect the local economy
• To perform other such duties and functions as provided by the City Council.
