Parks and Recreation Board
2007 Work Plan and Meeting Schedule
The Parks and Recreation Board consists of nine citizen members appointed by the City Council.
The Board acts as an advisory board and advises and makes recommendations to Cultural, Library,
and Recreational Services and the City Council for their approval as to rules, regulations, policies,
and administrative and budgetary matters pertaining to Parks and Recreation, excluding matters
relating to the operation and maintenance of City -owned golf courses and cemeteries. The Board
assists the City in cooperating with the Poudre School District and other organizations and
individuals interested in the City's parks and recreation programs. Members serve four-year terms,
and they serve without compensation.
All regular Parks and Recreation Board meetings are scheduled for the fourth Wednesday of each
month at the Cultural, Library, and Recreational Services Administrative Offices, 215 North Mason
Street in the Community Room, at 5:30 p.m. *Note: The January 24's meeting will take place at the
Horticulture Center. The Board may choose to meet in other locations that will be publicly
announced. The 2007 meeting schedule is as follows:

2007 Proposed Aeenda Items
• Update of the Parks and Recreation Policy Plan
• Review matters associated with the construction of the new Northside Aztlan Community
Center
Neiehborhood Parks
• Review designs for Provincetown Park
• Review matters related to the construction of Case Park final phase
• Provide recommendations on parkland acquisition options
• Review Management Plans for neighborhood parks and make recommendations on park
improvements
Community Parks
• Review final design details and matters related to the construction of Spring Canyon Community
Park
• Review the Management Plans for City Park and Lee Martinez Park and make recommendations
on park improvements
• Review community parkland acquisition options
Trails
• Continue to review the location and construction of new trails, including the expansion of the
Poudre River Trail, Fossil Creek Trail, and Power Trail
• Support trail funding through Conservation Trust Funds, Natural Areas sales tax, grants, impact
fees, and other funding sources
• Keep the Board and staff updated on any Trails Subcommittee meetings
• Review regional trail plans
Other Proiects/Proerams
• Natural Areas Issues as they relate to Parks and Recreation
• Provide recommendations for regional recreational opportunities related to the Open Lands
Program
• Provide recommendations for the Water Craft Course design at the Old Power Plant
• Support grants and other outside funding opportunities for P&R programs and facilities
• Provide input on P&R fees
