Present: Dennis Baker, Harry Edwards, Maria Martinez, Glenn Strunk
Absent: David Evans & Charlie Greeb
Written notification of absence received from Brian Carroll
Staff: Lt. Jim Broderick, Greg Tempel, Assistant City Attorney, and Angelina Sanchez -
Sprague, Recorder.
The meeting was called to order at 5:05 p.m. by Chair Harry Edwards.
Minutes:
October 11, 2006 Minutes — Dennis Baker made a motion to approve the minutes
as revised. Marie Martinez seconded the motion. There was no discussion and
the motion passed 4-0.
Voice Mail Reports:
• CRB Voice Mail Message Report. Harry Edwards reported that as of 4:10 p.m.
on November 8'" there were no messages.
• Bias Policing Voice Mail Report. No report. Staff will have combined report at
the January 2007 meeting.
• Public Input: None.
New Business:
2007 Work Plan. The Board reviewed the draft prepared by Harry Edwards and noted
differences from the 2006 Work Plan. Glenn asked about the work done on the
development of templates (including subcommittee minutes and decision memos.)
Harry reported the work that had been done and agreed to forward copies of his files to
Jim who will remove confidential information. The templates will be distributed to
members for their use.
Maria Martinez made a motion to approve the 2007 Work Plan. Glenn Strunk
seconded the motion. There was no discussion. The motion passed 4:0.
New Member Selection Status. Jim Broderick reported four individuals had made
application for the CRB vacancies. All applicants will be interviewed by a City Council
interview committee and if the interview committee deems the applicants are a good
match; the new members (for the three vacancies) will be appointed at the December
19`" City Council meeting.
Jim outlined the orientation process Police Services has used for members Dennis
Baker and Glenn Strunk. He and Sgt. Reed will provide the Police Services Internal
Affairs process information and Chair Harry Edwards & Vice -Chair Dennis Baker will
• meet with the new members to share their personal perspectives of the Board's role and
work.
