Patty Bigner, Dennis Bode, DeEtta Carr, Kevin Gettig, Jenny Lopez-Filkins, Jim Hibbard, Pat Hyland, Brian Janonis, Kevin McBride, Lois Rellergert, Mike Smith and Dennis Sumner Meeting Convened Boardmember Rami Naddy called the meeting to order at 3:12 p.m. Public Comment There was no public comment. Approval of Minutes - March 23, 2006 Board member John Bartholow made a motion, seconded by Board member Reagan Waskom to approve the minutes of the March 23, 2006 meeting. The motion passed unanimously. Approval sale of land to retain a utility easement Pat Hyland, Real Estate Specialist III and Roger Buffington, Utility Development Review Manager explained the Agenda Item Summary authorizing the sale of a small tract of real estate on Cedarwood Drive and Prospect Drive. Presently, there is a sewer running under the real estate to be conveyed to the purchaser and the purchaser is the adjoining landowner. The City is presently maintaining and mowing this small strip of ground, which responsibilities will be assumed by the new owner. The City would reserve and retain a utility easement on and under this tract, in order to utilize the easement for any utility purpose required by the City in the Water Board Meeting Minutes May 25, 2006 Page 2 future. The total amount of consideration to be paid to the City for the purchase of the 3,935 square foot tract is $1,000, which will reimburse the City for the time and resources taken to convey the property. Board member Paul Czarnecki made a motion seconded by Board member John Bartholow approving staff s recommendation of the sale of the property and retaining a utility easement. The motion passed unanimously. Bit Thompson Watershed Forum Update Rob Buirgy, Executive Director gave a presentation on the Big Thompson Watershed Forum. The Forum is an association of private citizens and representatives of government, organizations and busineses. Kevin Gettig, Utilities Water Production Manager, is one of ten members of the Board of Directors. The Big Thompson Watershed Forum was formed in 1997 when a group of concerned citizens and officials observed clear signs of declining local water quality. Their mission is to protect and improve water quality through collaborative monitoring, assessment, education and restoration projects. Committee Reports Conservation and Public Education Board member Steve Balderson reported that the committee met in April to discuss the Draft Water Conservation Report. Engineering Board member Rami Naddy shared that they met jointly with the Water Supply committee and talked about the Watershed Forum and Horsetooth Reservoir Water Quality. Legislative, Finance and Liaison Issues Did not meet Water Supply Boardmember Reagan Waskom said that they met jointly with the Engineering committee. Other Business Staff is in the process of setting up tours of various sites for the Water Board and City Council.
