A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held on Wednesday, August 20, 1980, in the Council Chambers of the City of Fort Collins Municipal Building. Roll call was answered by the following members: Bujack, Long, Renz, Seegmiller and Wilson. Staff Members Present: Sgt. Bob Mason, Police Department City Clerk Wanda Krajicek Assistant City Attorney Pete Ruggiero Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 23, 1980, Approved as Published Authority member Long made a motion, seconded by Authority member Bujack to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of July 23, 1980, as published. The Chairman put the motion which was unanimously adopted. Renewals Approved for the Following Locations: Pelican Fish, 3512 S. Mason Street Pit Stop Liquors, 315 Riverside _------ -Round-the-Corner, .1221 W. Elizabeth --- - ,• -: Durrell Center, C.S.U. King Soopers, 1015 S. Taft Hill Road B-cubed, 3424 S. Mason Authority member Renz made a motion, seconded by Authority member Long to approve the above listed renewal applications. The Chairman put the motion which was unanimously adopted. Renewal Approved for Durrell Center C.S.U. Chairman Seegmiller did not vote or participate in this item. Authority member Long made a motion, seconded by Authority member Wilson to approve the above renewal application. Vice Chairman made a motion which was unanimously adopted. -2- August 20, 1980 Special Events Permit Approved for Homes Helps, Inc. Demie Basow, 3118 Rockwood, Executive Director of Home Helps, Inc., appeared to explain their plans for the event to be held August 31. She noted that Home Helps would be holding a fund raising "silent auction" and that it would be held at the Foothills Square Shopping Center on Sunday, August 31, after the Square had ceased business hours. She spoke of the security arrangements and identification checking procedures that will be used. Authority member Bujack made a motion, seconded by Authority member Long to approve the Special Events Permit (Liquor) for Home Helps, Inc. for August 31. The Chairman put the motion which was unanimously adopted. Expansion of Premises Determined Not Substantial for Campus West Liquors, 1104 City Park Avenue John Musa, 3013 Eastborough, co-owner of Campus West Liquors, explained the proposed expansion noting that they were going to be using a portion of a former store room as display area. The expansion involves taking out a wall and moving a door. Authority member Long made a motion, seconded by Authority member Bujack to determine the proposed expansion was not substantial. The Chairman put the motion which resulted in the following vote: Yeas: Authority members Bujack, Long and Seegmiller. Nays: Authority member Wilson. (Authority member Renz did not vote or participate -in this item.) THE MOTION CARRIED. New Application Accepted for a 3.2% Fermented Malt Beverage License for Pizza Inn, 820 City Park Avenue Ed Hanson, 1422 W. Oak, president of Pat -Win, Inc., appeared on behalf of the corporation. He explained that the former owners of Pizza Inn had gone out of business and that the previous 3.2% license had expired forcing them to reapply. Authority member Long made a motion, seconded by Authority member Bujack to accept the application and set the final hearing date for September 17. The Chairman put the motion which was unanimously adopted. -3- August 20, 1980 Police Report Sgt. Mason called the Authority's attention to a letter he had written regarding violations found when he and Dave Reitz had made inspections at several establishments. Authority member Bujack made a motion, seconded by Authority member Wilson to direct the City Attorney's office to write a letter of reprimand to the owners of the Town Pump, 124 N. College on the basis of the conditions found at the July 24th inspection. The Chairman put the motion which was unanimously adopted. Sgt. Mason announced that because of a reassignment of duties in the Police Department, he would not longer be the officer in charge of liquor related activities. Ken Kirchoff will be his replacement. Chairman Seegmiller asked that the City Clerk write a letter of appreciation to Sgt. Mason for his service to the Liquor Licensing Authority. Adjournment Authority member Renz made a motion, seconded by Authority member Wilson to adjourn the meeting. The Chairman put the motion which was unanimously adopted.
