HomeMy WebLinkAboutElectric Board - Minutes - 06/21/2006Fort Collins Utilities Electric Board Minutes Wednesday, June 21, 2006 Electric Board Chair City Council Liaison John Morris 377-8221 Kurt Kastein Electric Board Vice Chair Staff Liaison Dan Bihn 218-1962 DeEtta Carr 221-6702 Roll Call: Board Present Chairperson John Morris, Vice -Chair Dan Bihn, Tom Barnish, John Harris, Jeff Lebesch and Alison Mason and Steve Wolley Staff Present: Bill Bray, DeEtta Carr, Eric Dahlgren, Bob Micek, Tom Rock, Mike Smith, Dennis Sumner and Ellen Switzer Meeting Convened Chairperson John Morris called the meeting to order at 5:44 p.m. Citizen Participation There was no public comment. Approve Minutes of April 19, 2006 Meeting Board member John Harris made a motion, seconded by Board member Dan Bihn to approve the minutes of the April 19, 2006 meeting. The motion passed unanimously. Introduction of new Electric Board Member Chairman John Morris introduced Steve Wolley. Steve graduated from Fort Collins High School and from Colorado University with an Architecture Degree. He has spent the last 17 years working in the field of Facilities for Hewlett Packard, Agilent and Avago. Potential Property Exchanges Mike Smith, Utilities and Operation Services General Manager explained that there might be an upcoming charter change on surplus property among departments of the City. Water, Wastewater, Stormwater and Light & Power own surplus property that we could potentially looking at exchanging. For example, we are currently leasing the property for the Utility Billing Electric Board Meeting Minutes Wednesday, June 21, 2006 Page 2 Office on 330 South College and eventually we would like to build our own building and the General Fund may have property that we could trade for in the downtown area. CSU Alternative Energy Lab Update Bill Bray, Electric Planning & Engineering Services Manager gave a brief update on Colorado State University's Engine Lab. Spirae and CSU are working together on a distributed generation project at the engine lab. As Bill learns more on this issue, he will keep you informed. Other Business Board member Tom Barnish handed out the Platte River Power Authority Annual Report. Adjournment Board member Dan Bihn made a motion, seconded by Board member Jeff Lebesch to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously and was adjourned at 6:20 p.m. -2-
