A joint meeting of the City Library Board and the County Library Board was held
in the Library Auditorium at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Coffin, president of the City
Board, presided.
There was a discussion on ways and means in which the two libraries could work
together, thereby eliminating duplication of services to patrons.
Mr. Kitchen paid tribute to Mr. B. F. Coen, crediting him with service the
booknobile has performed during the past years. Mr. Kitchen reported on
his conference with the County Commissioners regarding Library service.
Mr. Von Bachmayr, Mr. Strahle, Father Coverley and Mr. Kitchen were appointed
as a committee to formulate a plan of cooperation to submit to the County
Commissioners. Mr. Von Bachmayr was appointed chairman.
A meeting of the two library boards was set for November 12 at 2 p.m. in Mr.
Kitchen's office. , , .

The City Library Board met following the meeting of the two .library boards.
Mr. Strahle reported on what was to be done with the balance of .the Capitol
Improvement Fund.from,this year's budget.
It was voted to pay Mrs. Thornburg the difference in salary between Toying
staff members extra time to fill in Mrs. Stoner's vacancy, and Mrs. Stoner's
salary, retroactive to October 10. The amount is $16.50 per month.
By unanimous consent the meeting day was changed to the Tuesday preceding the
last Friday of each month.. . . . . . .
