The Board of Trustees of the Fort Collins Public Library
met at Mrs. Garrison's home at 9 a.m. Minutes of the
January 21 meeting were approved as read.
Father Coverley read a letter from Dr. Stuart Baillie out-
lining his preceadure on a survey of the Libraries, estim-
ating the cost from .$300 to $500. Mr. Strahle moved this
survey be authorized and the City Board commit ourselves
to pay up to A250 as our share. The motion was seconded
and carried.
Mrs. Thornburg reported that Mrs. Whiting had requested
three weeks-rvacation-*two weeks her usual vacation and one
week without pay.' 'It'was the consensus that this should
be granted, providing it;can be arranged at the Library.
Mrs. Thornburg presented the problem of teachers from
Poudre R1 School District checking'out book deposits of
35-books each for the school children --the total number
amounting'to 900'at times.' 'Mrs. Thornburg would like to
dispense With this arrangement as it leaves the Library,
especially the juvenile department, very short of books..
Mr. Strahle moved that the Administration of the School
District be given.notice that, although we would like to
continue this'sarvice, under the present circumstances
it is impossible to do so and the service will terminate
May 15'. If' the school district desires this service in
the future,'it would be necessary to augment ou'r'budget
by funds from the school district. The motion was seconded
and carried and the president, secretary, and Mrs. Thornburg
were delegated to write the letter.

Mrs. Thornburg reported that Mr. Threatt could no longer
be at -the Library during the evenings and Mr. Gary Newblom
will'take'his' place.
Mrs. Coffin'brought up discussion -of .miorofilming'Fort
Collins newspapers which date back to the first issues in
1874. Cost of this project will be Y for two pages,
each volume would cost to $18. Since these old papers
are rapidly deteriorating it was considered advisable to
promote such a project. Equipment needed will include
case with a humidifier and a' reader. ' ' ' '
