The Board of Directors met at 4 P.M. in the Little Club Room at the
Library.
Minutes of the April 21 meeting were approved as read.
Mr. Strahle reported that the County Commissioners probably would not get
the legal angles of a merger of the two libraries resolved before election
this fall.
An application for librarian from Mrs. Proctor was read. Mr. Riddell moved
that the Secretary write her stating that at this time the Library is
adequately staffed and no one will be employed in the immediate future.
The motion was seconded and carried.
Mrs. Thornburg reported that Mr. Robert Wood from Remington Rand Co. will
make a survey of the Library free of charge to determine what further
equipment is needed. It was decided this -should be done.
Mrs. Thornburg brought up a discussion of the term of rental of books,
renewals, etc. Mr. Strahle moved that the Library discontinue telephone
renewals, July 1, and leave the rental period at 2 weeks. This should be
given publicity so the patrons will know about this change. The motion was
seconded and carried.
Mrs. Thornburg introduced the budget for next year. It was decide d that
the Board of Directors should meet June 9 to discuss the budget.
The meeting adjourned.
