The Library Board met in the Board Room at 4 p.m.
Mrs. Thornburg reported that according to Mr. Lynch the Library is not
included in rules for sick pay or vacation pay as set up for City Dnployees.
Mr. Strahle moved that employees of the Library be entitled to 2t days sick
leave for each month worked but sick leave cannot be accumulated beyond
ninety days. This is sick leave for the employee only, not a member of his
family. The motion was seconded and carried.
Mr. Lynch as requested that the Library budget be submitted by the end of
August.
The application of Mrs. Helen Boulier as Library Assistant was discussed.
No action was taken.
Mrs. Thornburg reported that Mr. Ralph Gleckler, head of the government
program for underpriviledged children, had approached her on hiring two young
people at government expense. Mrs. Bennett moved that Mrs. Thornburg
investigate the, program and participate if she feels the Library can
benefit by it. The motion Was seconded and carried.
It was decided that the secretary write a letter to the school board requesting
a conference on the problems of student discipline.
