Mrs. V. 0. Coffin presided at the regular meeting of the Library Board.
Minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.
It was announced that the 1967 budget does not include funds for
capital improvements.
Mr. Strahle read the interim agreement between the City and County
Libraries. Following discussion it was moved by Mrs. Bennett,
seconded by Mr. Strahle and carried that Mr. Webber set up such cost
accounting records as are necessary to show the complete cost of
bookmobile operation including depreciation of books, cost of each
stop and cost of circulation.
Mr. Strahle moved that a fine of 25¢ per overdue book in addition
to the regular fine be charged for those books which the librarian has to
go get from borrowers. The motion, seconded by Mrs. Ronco, was carried.
Mr. Webber led a discussion of the possibilities of closing the
library at 6 p.m. on Fridays. The Board recommended that circulation
and use figures be compiled during November before any decision is
reached.
