HomeMy WebLinkAboutLibrary Board - Minutes - 12/08/1966December 8, 1966 Mrs. V. 0. Coffin presided at a special meeting of the City Library Board. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Mr. Strahle read a proposed agreement between the City and County for a merger of the two libraries. He also read an amended version of the agreemert. The amended version includes this paragraph (#5): "Except as herein otherwise provided, the Bookmobile shall be furnished and maintained by the County, including gas, oil, repairs and similar maintenance." Paragraph 8 also was added to the agreement and read: "In consideration of the service to be furnished in accordance with paragraph 7, above, the County shall pay to the City, for the period covered by this agreement, the sum of $5,250.00 to be used in the operation of library services as determined by the City Library Board. The said sum shall be paid in two equal quarterly installments on March 31, 1967, and on June 30, 1967. The revised agreement will be sent to the County Library Board for their consideration. Mrs. Bennett moved that the Library Board contact the local Council on Arts and Humanities offering cooperation in their activities. Mrs. Ronco seconded the motion which was passed. Mr. `Webber reported that on the basis of use of the Library on Friday evenings, no further consideration will be given to closing Friday evenings. Following motions by Mr. Strahle which were seconded by Mrs. Ronco, the group voted to close the Library all day December 24 and December 26 and to close the Library at 4:00 p.m. on December 31.
