HomeMy WebLinkAboutLibrary Board - Minutes - 11/16/19670 0 November 16, 1967 The port Collins City Libraay Board met with Sarah Bennett presiding. Minutes from the previous meetin were read and approved. Mr. eebbar presented figures amounting to approximately $1,200 for replacamer_t of existing doors with new doors for vandal prevention. Mr. Williats moved that the Board strongly recommend that the vandal proofing of certain windows, and concealed portions of the building, plus replacement of rotted window frames and sills be referred to proper authorities. This motion was seconded by Mrs. Henry and passed. a. Webber was asked to contact Mr. Baker on this recommendation. Mr. ?:'gibber was asked to check on securing better lighting for the hall leading to the Board Room and the Children's Room. The Library will close December 23 through the 25th. It will also be closed January 1, 1968. Accepting volunteer help in the Library will be at the discretion of Mr. Webber A check will be made with U.S.O. and military authorities concerning the shipment of discarded books from our Library to Vietnam. It was reported that no figure was available on the Friends of the Library profits from book sales during National Library Week, but would probably amount to between $400 and $500. It was also noted that the Friends' annual meeting would be the evening of December 4 or 11 at a member's home. Mr. Webber called attention to new shelving in the Board Room which had been built for the Catalog Department. The Library Staff was corimended on publicity for National Education Week. Announcement was made by Mr. Webber concerning a joint meeting of the County Library Board and County Commissioners on November 20 when Mrs Adcock and Mrs. King of the high Plains Library System would present the advantages of the Library belonging to the System. The Merger Agreement was discussed and amended. Board approval followed. Systems will be the subject of the January meeting of the Board.
