The Fort Collins Public Library Board met in the Board Room.on Wednesday,
February 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Minutes of the January 15th meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Webber reported that the$100 gift from Mr. and Mrs. Leslie. Everitt
would be spent for protective covers for periodicals.
It was also reported that Mr. Sullivan of the City Attorney's office had
suggested that the Library file a complaint with the District Attorney
against Christine Lee Harris who has unreturned library materials amounting
to $56. Mr. Sullivan will also contact the Preston Valora family again
concerning two books which were not returned.
Mr. Williams moved, at the recommendation of the Librarian, that Robert
Holzfaster's rating be changed from Library Aide to Library Assistant
effective February 16 with the appropriate increase in salary. The
motion was seconded and passed by the Board.
The Board suggested that Mr. Webber talk with Mr. G. A. Schmidt concerning
his offer of three paintings to be hung in the Library.
Mr. Webber reported on the City Management Institute which he recently
attended, the Safety Committee composed of members from each department
of the City, and the Friends of the Library's plans for National Library
Week (April 20 to 26).
The Board decided that the Library's display policy would not permit the
placing of a display in the Library by the Housing Opportunities Made
Equal organization.
It was decided to accept the offer of the Arts and Humanities Council to
provide money, with matching funds to come from the Library or other
organizations. Two suggested projects were considered: a tape listening -
center and enlarging the theatre and drama collection.
The meeting adjourned at 9 p.m.
