Fort Collins Library Board called meeting regarding budget.
The meeting was called to order by the President at 1:30 p.m. in Mr.
Webber's office. All members of the Board were present as well as
Mr. Webber and Mrs. Thornburg.
Mrs. Bennett reported she and Mr. Webber had met with the City Manager
on Monday and had agreed to turn over to the City Finance Department
the special funds traditionally kept and expended by the Library Board
in a separate bank account. Mrs. Ronco and Mr. Watrous had attended the .
Thursday meeting of the City Budget Committee (see accompanying newspaper
report).
Mrs. Ronco moved that the bank account be checked and a report made by
an outside auditor. The motion was seconded and passed. Mr. Capps, a
CPA, had agreed to go over the records and make the report by Monday,
September 29.
Mrs. Ronco moved the cost of the financial report be charged to Contractual
Services and paid from the Library Budget. This motion was seconded by
Mr. Watrous and passed.
I The following distribution of the CPA's report was agreed on:
A copy to be mailed to the home address of each member of the -
City Council, to each member of the Library Board, to the Press
and Radio, and to the City Manager at his home address.
Mr. Watrous requested a brief history of the McNaughton Service. It was
first subscribed for by the County Library for the year July, 1963 to
July, 1964. In November, 1966, the City Library began their subscription.
Books, fully processed with plastic covers and catalog cards are received
from this Service and are first loaned on a rental basis at the rate of
10� for each check-out period. They are eventually returned to the Service
or purchased at 752 discount and put on the shelves as regular library
acquisitions.
The discussion also included the purposes for which State Aid money might
be used, namely for salaries, materials, or equipment.'
Mr. Watrous moved that copies of the Larimer County History should no
longer be circulated but kept as reference books. The motion was seconded
and passed.
