FORT COLLINS CITY LIBRARY BOARD
The Board met in Mr. Webber's office at 7:30 p.m. with all members present
and Mrs. Linda Andrews, cataloger, who had assisted in preparation of projection
for library service for several years to come.
Old Business: A letter was read from Mrs. Stegner reporting plans for neighborhood
story hours for underprivileged children. These were to substitute for bookmobile
visits, and leaders would check out boxes of 20 to 40 books on a weekly basis
for children from 4 to 10 years of age. Mr. Williams moved the plan be approved.
It was seconded by Mrs. Ronco and passed.
A total of 854 over -due books were returned during the fine -free week.
Mr. Watrous reported on meetings scheduled for the High Plains Council,
.mostly in the eastern part of the area. It was suggested the Xerox copy of the
Council report be sent to City Hall.
Fifteen men and their wives had been invited to a'special open house at the
Library on June 15 but only the City Manager and Mrs. Coffey were able to come.
New Business: Permission was given for the Library to close on July 3 and 4 as
other City offices were to do.
Immediate purchase of new fans was authorized.
The tentative budget for 1971 was carefully considered line by line. Mrs.
Henry moved that the Book budget be set at $25,000. Mrs. Ronco seconded and the
motion carried.
Further consideration of the budget was planned for the next regular meeting
on July 15.
