HomeMy WebLinkAboutLibrary Board - Minutes - 06/06/1973June 6, 1973 0 The Library Board called a special open house meeting particularly for the new members Of the City Council. All members of the Board were present, and Larry Webber and Grace Thornburg of the library staff. Visitors were City Manager Brunton; Charles Hagemeister, President of the Museum Board; and the following Council members: Charles Bowling, William Lopez, Mrs. Nancy Gray, and Jack Russell. June 11, 1973 i The Library Board met in special session in the Children's Room at 7:30 p.m. Present were Mrs. Bennett, Mrs. Ronco, Mrs. Henry, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. Watrous, Mr. Webber and Mrs. Thornburg were also present. ?•!inutes of the last regular meeting, May 16, 1973, were approved as written. Mr. Webber reported he had contacted the CSU Library and the State Library for applications for an Assistant Director and possibly for a cataloger. Mrs. Ronco moved that, should there be a vacancy in the catalog department, the cataloger job be offered Mrs. Carol Grasmick on the basis of her previous service in this library. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. A new outline of staff responsibilities was also presented by Mr. Webber. Frank Johnson reported on contacts with possible consultants for library planning. Because of the fine impression made at a presentation by Rohlf Associates (Robert Rohlf of Minneapolis and Frank Gibson of Omaha) at a meeting arranged by the State Library last November they were contacted. They can spend Friday, July 20, 1973 in Fort Collins for travel expense only and Mr. Johnson was authorized to complete arrangements. Also contacted was Dr. John Eastlick of Denver. He will come for a conference on Thursday, June 21, at 7:30 p.m, at no charge. Applications for the Assistant Director position, which had been selected by Mr. Webber and Mrs. Thornburg, were considered. Mr. Webber was asked to request Mrs. Jane Davis to meet with the Board at 7:00 p.m. on June 21. :Ir. Watrous reported on a recent meeting of the High Plains Region held in Fort Morgan on June 11. Because of special meetings being held in June the Board will not hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, June 20. Lois H. Henry, Secretary
