Frank Gibson, library consultant, was contacted by phone, Wednesday, June 9, 1976 to inquire about his experience and feelings concerning automatic doors in library buildings. Although he stated that he has had no experience with this type of entrance to libraries, he did not see any reason why a library should not have these doors. He felt excited about the concept and the availability to the handicapped and elderly. The only reason he gave as to why he thought libraries hadn't used it before was the cost. Enclosed in this packet are the revised meeting room and gift policies. These are still working documents and if you have any concerns, comments or revisions please let Jane Davis know as soon as possible since the next library board meeting is not until July 28, 1976. Prior to the opening of the new building, some type of action will have to be taken by the City Council for final adoption or endorsement. It is our aim to have a brochure printed and ready for distribution on the opening day, explaining the policies of the new library.
