Regular Meeting — March 21, 2005

A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held on March 21, 2005 in Municipal
Court, Justice Center, 201 LaPorte. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding.

Robert Younger, Liquor Enforcement Officer (Absent)
Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk
Agenda Review
Deputy City Clerk Jensen stated there are no changes to the agenda.
Request from Stonehouse Pubs One, LLC,
dba Stonehouse Grille to Change, Alter, or Modify
the Licensed Premises at 160 West Oak Street, Approved
Scott Kintz and Kit Sutherland, representatives for Stonehouse Pubs One, LLC, briefly described
the proposed changes. Mr. Kintz stated they have an encroachment permit from the City
Engineering Department.
Mr. Kintz briefly described the petitioning process. He stated they petitioned both residential
and businesses. Mr. Kintz stated they received an overwhelmingly positive response to this
application.
Judge Lane approved the application from Stonehouse Pubs One, LLC, dba Stonehouse Grill to
Change, Alter, or Modify the Licensed Premises at 160 West Oak Street.
Transfer of Ownership of Washington's,
132 LaPorte Avenue, from Kana'i, Inc., to
CBI Enterprises, Inc., and Trade Name Change
Washington's Sports Bar & Grill, Approved
Megan Ingram, Brian Cook, and Shane Belcher, representatives for the applicant, briefly
described their background and training they have received. Mr. Cook stated Liquor
Enforcement Officer Younger has had several training sessions with their staff. He stated they
have another appointment with Officer Younger on March 25, 2005. Mr. Cook stated they have

only made cosmetic changes to the premises. He stated the marketing focus is more towards a
sports type atmosphere. Mr. Cook stated they will not be changing the hours of operation. Mr.
Belcher stated they have increased the security staff. He stated that at 9:00 p.m., all patrons
under 21 are escorted off the premise and begin carding patrons at the door. Mr. Cook stated that
any employee found in violation of the liquor code will be immediately terminated. He stated
they have a current liquor code on premise.
Judge Lane approved the Transfer of Ownership of Washington's, 132 LaPorte Avenue, from
Kana'i, Inc., to CBI Enterprises, Inc., and Trade Name Change to Washington's Sports Bar &
Grill, contingent upon attending Officer Younger's training.
Hearing on a New Application from Genoa Coffee, LLC,
for a Beer and Wine License at Genoa Coffee & Wine,
2608 South Timberline, Approved
Patricia Stephenson, representative for the applicant, was sworn. Ms. Stephenson briefly
described her background. She stated she will attend Liquor Enforcement Officer Younger's
training March 25, 2005. Ms. Stephenson stated food sales will be approximately 75% of their
gross sales. She stated they will be open 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., 7 days a week. Ms. Stephenson
stated she will card anyone that appears to be under 40 years of age. She stated she will require
the employees who will serve alcohol to attend Officer Younger's training. Ms. Stephenson
stated she will terminate any employee who is found in violation of the liquor code.
Ms. Stephenson briefly described the petitioning process. She stated she received many positive
comments in support of this application. Judge Lane marked the petitions as Exhibit 1.
Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2005-06 approving the Beer and Wine License from Genoa
Coffee, LLC, at Genoa Coffee & Wine, 2608 South Timberline, contingent upon receipt by
Deputy City Clerk Jensen of an updated diagram and attendance of Officer Younger's training
for the owners and staff.
