PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD
MINUTES -- REGULAR MEETING
MAY 13, 1986 -- 7:00 P.M.

Catherine Fine, Susan Kirkpatrick; LIBRARY STAFF -- Jane Davis,
Robert Holzfaster, Jackie Mart.
The meeting was called to order by the President, Christine Kneeland. The
minutes of the previous meeting were approved as distributed. There was no
correspondence.
The,statistical report for April 1986 was distributed. Jane Davis, Library
Director, introduced Jackie Mart, new Library Program Administrator for
Adult Services. Ms. Mart comes to the Fort Collins Public Library from the
Deschutes County Library in Bend, Oregon.
Jane Davis reported on her meeting with Steve Burkett, new City Manager.
Mr. Burkett visited the library, had a short tour and met staff on May 6.
Jane Davis and Robert Holzfaster reported on the 1987 budget preparation.
process. The 1987 proposed budget includes no increases over the current
1986 budget. This means that the materials budget, unless further funding
is forthcoming, is at the same level for 187 as it is for 1986.
Under Old Business, the ad hoc committee appointed to study the request
made by the Executive Board of the Fort Collins Historical Society to name
the library historical collection the Charlene Tresner Local History
Collection did not yet have a recommendation for the Board. They will
continue to study the request and may have a recommendation by the June
meeting.
Copies of the final draft of the materials budget request to City Council
were distributed. The packet was sent to Council the week of May 5.
Copies of the Board's annual report to Council were also distributed.
Under New Business Christine Kneeland and Don Morgan were appointed to an
ad hoc committee to read the book Na oleon S m hhon,�, by Anthony Burgess. A
Citizen's Request for Reconsideration o a Book has been received for this
title.
Jane Davis distributed information on an informational meeting on Library
Districting to be held in Loveland on May 22.
The meeting was adjourned.
