FORT COLLINS HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION
Meeting of January 5, 1973
The monthly meeting of the Fort Collins Human Relations Commission
was held in the Friendship Room of the Municipal Building at 300 LaPorte Avenue,
Fort Collins, Colorado, on January 5, 1973

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 7:45 p.m. A cordial
welcome was given to Mr. Louis Brown and Mrs, David Moore, new members of the
Commission.
The Publicity Committee was asked to use their own discretion as to
what should be reported; and, if there is any question,to consult with the whole
Commission. Parker Preble reported that he had contacted Don McMillan to do an
article for the Coloradoan covering the functions of the Human Relations Commission.
Don was to contact the Chairman and the past Chairman for information, but this
has not been done.
The question arose as to how the Human Relations Commission might
acquire a telephone number to be listed and used as their own or referred to
through the City switchboard. Wally Bujack was asked to check with the City
Manager to see what could be done about this request.
Each committee chairman gave a brief description of the responsibilities
of their respective committee, and how it relates to the whole Commission,
David Osborn, Chairman of the Research Committee reported that he had
written to various agencies for information which the Committee hopes to have
organized and ready to use within the next few months. He also reminded the
Commission of the legal aid available at the Buckingham Neighborhood Center on
1st Street each Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. It was also announced
that Charlotte Greenfield is the legal aid person on campus for students to
contact with rental or housing problems.
Ralph Braden, Chairman of the Education Committee reported that they
are formulating guidelines and making plans to educate the whole community
through all facilities available as to the functions of the Commission and how
it can be used to benefit all.

The request was made that the minutes be mailed ten days to two weeks
before the next meeting so all memebers would have ample notification of the
meeting.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The next
meeting will be February 8, 1973 at 7:30 p.m. in theFriendshipRoom of the
Municipal Building, 300 LaPorte Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado.
