Fort Collins Library Board
The regular meeting of the Fort Collins Library Board was called to order
in Mr. Webber's office at 7:30 p.m. All members were present.
Minutes of the meeting of April 15 were read and approved.
Old business included a report that the dress code had been accepted and
was working well. Mr. Webber reported a satisfactory meeting at Aspen with a
total of 47 attending, mostly from the Western Slope.
The time for fine -free book return week was discussed. Mrs. Ronco moved
it be changed from the last week of May to the week of June 1 through June b.
Mrs. Henry seconded the motion and it was passed.
New business included the annual election of officers. Mrs. Ronco moved
that the present officers be re-elected. Mr. Williams seconded, and the motion
carried. These officers are: President, Mrs. Bennett; Vice President, Mr. Williams;
Secretary, Mrs. Henry.
Mrs. Henry was reappointed by the City Council - April 22, 1970 to April 22,
1974.
Mr. Webber suggested that since the library was a sub -division of the City
Administration it might be well to close on May 29 and 30 as the City Hall was
doing. Mr. Williams moved that this be done, Mrs. Ronco seconded the motion
which carried.
The summer schedule for the Bookmobile was discussed. It is to be painted
and overhauled in June and be on exhibit at the County Fair later. Mr. Webber
had in mind the use of volunteers to take books to the Spanish Centers instead
of regular bookmobile visits. No decision was reached, the question being the
availability of satisfactory volunteers.
The County Library Board has offered to "man" the Bookmobile at the County
Fair in August.
The D.A.R. has offered to finance the microfilming of the Watrous book of
Larimer County History.
Friends of the Library have managed a book auction successfully and are
aiding in disposal of additional books.
Mr. Webber's vacation will be June 22 - July 13. The tentative, preliminary
budget will be ready for Board consideration on June 17. It is due at City Hall on
July 22.
Visitors at the meeting were Mrs. Grant, former Cache La Poudre Junior H. S.
Librarian, and Mrs. Barbara Sinclair. Both are much interested in the future of
the library: budgets, branches, and what others can do for the library.
The meeting adjourned. The next regular meeting will be on June 17, 1970.
Respectfully submitted,
Lois H. Henrv. Sec.
