The Opera House Project has been completed and is a magnificent demonstration of
workmanship. The major office tenant signed to date is the Latimer County District
Attorney. The developer of the Ponderosa Steak House has completed all his contract
requirements with the DDA and is waiting for final financing approval. The Visual Arts
Center organization has been replaced by One West Contemporary Art Center. The
DDA worked actively with Roz Spencer, One West's organizer, and the Community
Development Corporation in the acquisition of the Old Post Office building to house the
art center. One West completed purchase of the building in early January and plans to
be in operation by the end of March.
Councilperson Ann Azari was appointed as City Council liaison and Chuck Mabry
served as alternate.
