The Linden Hotel. The highest priority for the DDA in 1992 is the stabilization and eventual redevelopment of the Linden Hotel. The City and the DDA are working out a method to finance the stabilization of the building. This should be resolved by the end of 1991 or early in 1992. Stabilizing the building, which includes restoration of the facade, is only the first step. The long term key to its successful rehabilitation will be filling it with tenants. 2. Residential Project. The residential market study commissioned by the DDA indicates a strong demand for more housing downtown and throughout Fort Collins. To take the development of housing the next step an economic feasibility analysis must be conducted to identify the extent to which the project may require leverage. 3. Rezoning. Through most of 1991 the DDA has been working to repackage the development process for the central business district under the auspices of a rezoning study. The study is very close to completion and will be brought to the Board in conjunction with the proposed symposium scheduled for Spring, 1992. 4. Symposium. Initial response to the proposed DDA sponsored symposium on downtown's role in the Fort Collins Community has been very positive. To be effective, organization and pre -planning will be crucial. The Symposium will be held sometime in the Spring of 1992 and will focus on identifying and building upon values which are common to a wide variety of special interests. 5. New DDA Offices. The DDA's current office lease expires at the end of this year. The Authority will explore methods of more effectively utilizing funds committed for rent to help leverage the improvement of a downtown property.
