Minutes - Jams 24. 1969
The rasular monthly meeting of the Fort Collins Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board was called to order by the cheirmsu, Mr. Co N. Paterson.
at 7:00 P.N.. June 24. 1%9.
The minutes of the May meeting worm approved.
Mr. Lary Janes reported on the small craft program for City Park Lake.
The program is going very well. The boats are very busy an days with
wars weather, but the rentals are slow during coolq rainy weather.
The am concrete bottom is in the pool and the "Indus 1s82on0 are full.
Mr. Gary Garwood presented a proposal concerning the method of supervision
for the new municipal golf coarse. The proposal suggested that the two
muuieipally ouaed golf courses be under one orgsniaotion. It was also
suggested that a separate golf board be established under the Parks and
Recreation Departaant. The golf board would make recoammandations on
hiring, budgets, operation, etc. to the City. Discussion of the proposed
method of supervision was bold. It was decided that the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board Would make a recommendation to City Council at s later data.
Mr. Larry James reported that several members of the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board and members of the swimming pool steering committee had not
with school board =share to discuss plans for an indoor pool. The school
board is planning to discuss the possible ways of fiaam be • pool that is
owned by both city and scbools.
