HomeMy WebLinkAboutParks And Recreation Board - Minutes - 11/17/19700 • FORT COLLINS PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD Minutes - November 17, 1170 The regular meeting of the Fort Collins Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was opened at 7:00 p.m. by Mr. H. R. Phillips, acting in the place of the regular chairman, Mr. C. W. Peterson. It was reported that Club Tico is to be open twice between now and Christmas. There was a short discussion about possible reorganization of the management of Club Tico. Mr. Phillips asked for guidance from Board members in building new facilities for the parks and recreation offices and for the storage of equipment. Two possible locations would be west of Fire Station r?2 or the old car barns. Mrs, Con Donohoe, chairmen of the stee-.ing committee for construction of a swirmin pool, re,)oated .hat the can:,ittee mat on 13ovember 11 to make plans for pre _Qtatioa of the plan for building the pool to the Poudre R-1 Board of Education at its Novsc:ber 30 meeting. A booklet has been preptrred for this presentation. Mr. F.obert Durn was asked to make the presentation to the SO4-6. Mr, Ph.`.11ips r posted that Mr. Paul Hangen, Chairman of the Arts and Humanities Council ":: rnm',.23 permission to put a free-standing sculpture in Edora Park. The offer eras accepted. Mrs. Kathy Mick, Manager of Club Tice, accompanied by Jeff Brovn and Craig Edgerton from Club Tico 2oard, reported that the treasury of Club Tico has a deficit balance. She said the plan is to close Use to the high schools until Christmas but did ask for pe:a.ission to open Thanksgiving night. A suggestion was made to Mrs. Mick to sell tickets to the Christmas dance in advance in order to know how much money would be available for a band. Mrs. Mick asked for permission to rent Club Tico to other groups..A motion , was made by Mrs. Eddy and seconded by Dr. Petting that no rental to other groups of Club Tico be permitted.
