GOLF ADVISORY BOARD
Meeting_. A(1& a,_25, l976
The -:meeting wa=a called to order by the president, Bud Crandall.
The Golf Board dinner was &cheduled for September 16, 1976, The dinner committee
is Vern Schuster, chairman, Dee Goodman and *Tell Davis. Bud Crandall will schedule
tee times.
Members discussed proposed "By -Laws" for the Golf Board. Article 11 was changed
to add Section 6 - "The Golf Board guide lines will be governed by the City
Boards and Commissions Manual." Article Ili - Section 2 was changed as follows:
"Election of officers shall be held annually at the September meeting; those
elected to takes office October lot of each year." Sid Peretti moved the By -Laws
be accepted as corrected. The motion war; seconded and passed.
A letter to the Board from Richard N. Dawn was read. The letter requested a
refund of membership dues, because of illness and inability to play, Vern
Schuster made a motion to return half of the dues. The motion passed.
H. R. Phillips asked the Board to contl.nue to act on requests for refunds.
Mr. Robert Brunton presented and explained the proposed budget for the city
golf courses for 1977. In order to have he necessary capital, a motion was
made by Sid Peretti to accept Plan 6 - an inrease of $10.00 per membership,
excluding Senior Citizens, and an increacze of $1.00 per green fee. The motion
was seconded and passed.
A discussion was held concerning safety factors at City Park Nine driving range.
H. R. Phillips has discussed this with the Assistant City Attorney, Lucie }allay.
Immediate signs were recommended. Other ideas, such as fence and the changing
of #8 fairway were also discussed.
Bill Metier discussed the need for repair or new carpet at Collindale and the
golf carts leased for 1976. The carts have been kept in running order, but did
not coma with taps an specified in the contract.
Tom Peck said there had been some problems with the electric carts at City Park
Nine due to an overload in electricity.: He announced that $700.12 was donated
in the Dirk Smelser Tournament.
Dave Sadler will. become Golf Superintendznt at City Park Nine on October 20, 1976,
Neil Johnson and Dave will work together as a total operation for the two courses.
The exchange a>f equipment: will reduce cost of maintenance at both courses.
President, Bud Crandall, appointed the foU awing people to the Nominating Committer
to report at: the September meeting.
Lee Suniga, Chairman - Vern Schuster, James Mitchell and Sid Peretti as members,
Sid Peretti taoved the meeting b4 adjourned. The motion was seconded and passed.
