Home My WebLink AboutParks And Recreation Board - Minutes - 11/24/1981FO4PCOLLINS PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENTS PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES: Regular Meeting 9 9 - November 24, 1981 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman, Mike ImMasche. The minutes of the regular meeting of September 22, 1981 were unanimously approved, as submitted, COMMUNITY PARK SITE OPTIONS H. R. Phillips presented maps, slides and pertinent data regarding the two proposed Community Park sites -- Huntington Hills and Fuqua. Pros and Cons were discussed on both sites. Director of Planning and Development, Curt Smith, reviewed some of the financial data on both sites. Ken Nelson then moved, seconded by Chuck Solano, "...That the Parks and Recreation Board recommend that staff and Council proceed with negotiations on the Huntington Hills property". The motion passed unanimously. OPEN DISCUSSION WITH THE GOLF ADVISORY BOARD At the request of the Golf Board, an open discussion was held with them regarding the mutual concerns of both Boards. Chairman, Tom Skillman, spoke for the Golf Board regarding their hopes that our two Boards work closer together on future projects. The Golf Board faces serious monetary problems in considering develop- ment of future golf course sites, and thought there might be ways the Parks and Recreation Board could work jointly with them in finding solutions. It was suggested that the two Boards meet jointly once or twice a year to maintain communication channels. All in attendance agreed that this joint meeting was very good. OTHER BUSINESS - Chairman ImMasche announced that there would be no December Board meeting due to the holidays. - H. R. Phillips reviewed the "Detention Pond Parks Report" for the Board. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
