HomeMy WebLinkAboutLiquor Licensing Authority - Minutes - 11/19/2001LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY MINUTES Regular Meeting - November 19, 2001 1:00 p.m. Council Liaison: RayMattinez 11 Staff Liaison: Aimee Jensen A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held on November 19, 2001 in Municipal Court, Justice Center, 201 Laporte. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding. Staff in attendance: Teresa Ablao, Assistant GtyAttomey Richard Johnson, Liquor Enforcement Officer Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk Aaenda Review Deputy City Clerk Jensen stated there are no changes to the agenda. Request from Zydeco Grille, Inc., dba Zydeco Grill, 11 Old Town Square, to Change, or Alter, or Modify Dan Kerig, representative for Zydeco Grille, Inc., stated the proposed modifications will increase their seating by approximately 45 seats. He briefly described the proposed changes. Mr. Kerig stated they will provide packaged food during the construction. Judge Lane approved the request from Zydeco Grille, Inc., dba Zydeco Grill,11 Old Town Square, to change, alter, or modify the licensed premises. Hearing on a New Application from Olbty's-Dean Sports Crossing, LLC for a Tavern Liquor License at O.D.'s Sports Crossing, 218 Smokey Street, Approved Cindy Dean, Dave Dean, and John Monteleone, were sworn in. John Monteleone, representative for the applicant and manager applicant, stated he has read the liquor code. He stated he is in the process developing a training and policymanual. Mr. Monteleone stated he will personally run the concession stand for 30 days to make sure all rules and regulations are adhered to. He stated they will be serving pre -packaged sandwiches and snack items to meet the requirements of the tavern liquor license. Mr. Monteleone stated that all employees will be trained in the sale of alcohol. He stated employees will be terminated if found in violation of the liquor code. Mr. Monteleone stated theywill cans everyone who orders a drink He stated they will probably have 1 employee for every 15-20 patrons. r1 u November 19, 2001 Bret Mansur, representative for Liquor Petitioning Services, was swom. He briefly described the petitioning process and indicated the petitions represent 159 signatures in favor (61%) and 101 signatures in opposition (39%). Mr. Mansur stated the primary concern for people who signed in opposition was the concern for underage patrons at O.D.'s Sports Crossing. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2001-13 approving an application from Olbry's-Dean Sports Crossing, LLC for a tavern liquor license at O.D.'s Sports Crossing, 218 Smokey Street. Registration of John Monteleone as Manager of O.D.'s Sports Crossing, 218 Smokey Street, Approved John Monteleone, manager applicant, stated he has had many years of experience in managing employees. He briefly detailed his background. Judge Lane approved the registration of John Monteleone as Manager of O.DA Sports Crossing, 218 Smokey Street.
