A regular meeting of the Library Board was held on Thursday, April 10,1997, in the Ben Delatour Room of
the Fort Collins Public Library. The following Library Board members were present: Bill Cook, Jack Steele,
Al Stone, Jacqueline Wallace, and M. Madeleine Wawro.
Library Board Members Absent: Anne Ostrye-Macdonald, Joanne Monath
City Staff Members Present: Kim Crowley, Mike Powers, Gabe Serenyi, Francine Purdom,
Marjorie Teklits
Friends of the Library Liaison: Catherine Janonis
Guest: Mike Cullerton
The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by the Chairperson, Jack Steele. The minutes of the March 13,
1997 Regular meeting stand as written.
CORRESPONDENCE
A copy of the letter from the Community Foundation approving the grant of $600 for the purchase of library
materials was distributed.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Library Director Interviews
Gabe Serenyi introduced himself and briefed Board members on the interview process scheduled for
April 14th.

NEW BUSINESS
A. Items for the May meetine
Nancy Knepel from the High Plains Regional Library Service System will be invited to discuss Library
Districts, discussion will be continued on the proposed library focus groups, and Bill Cook and Jack
Steele will discuss the Library Fund Committee further.
Al Stone presented a technology overview which included hardware used in a computer, basic
units of storage, central processing unit capacity, storage media, CPU's and software past,
present and future.
2. An introduction to the Internet and the World Wide Web was given by Mike Cullerton. A
demonstration on how the World Wide Web is used at the Library was given by Francine
Purdom and Kim Crowley.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
