I. Minutes approved as read.
II. HRC Award
Staff

The HRC Award presented their recommendation for the award.
Kathy moved to approve the committee recommendation and the
motion passed unanimously.
All nominees and members of the six groups that nominated them
will be invited to the breakfast on April 24, 1985 7:00 a.m.
to 8:00 a.m. in the Ludlow Room, Lincoln Center. A press re-
lease will be made to indicate those individuals nominated.
III. EEOC Sub -Committee
ULvtLOPMENT
Ernie has joined Paul and Sam on this committee. They will
work on changes made to the Boards and Commissions applica-
tion form.
They are working on updating statistics on memberships on the:
Boards and Commission and on recruiting potential members.
Q.: Are all Boards and Commissions to be surveyed?
A.: Yes
In order to make city employees aware of EEO and AA. Jaime
announced that this information is included in a seven day
supervisors training package.

V. Police Sub -Committee
The police sub -committee discussed the grievance procedure and
edited the police brochure. Commission members were asked to
give any input they would like to see as needed.
There was discussion on Chief Glasscock communication to the
HRC regarding the arrest statistics. Type of violation was
requested by members due to the high number of American Indian
population arrested.
Sam suggested that perhaps in the future a juvenile officer
could meet the HRC members.
VI. Issue of the Month
The article "ID Checks Sometimes Yield Arrest" which appeared
in the Collegian was discussed. Lt. Bud Reed presented the facts
of the case and remarked that it was unfortunate that the reporter
did not get all the facts straight.
VII. Next Month's Issue
It was suggested that we discuss the complaint policy which the
Sheriff's Department uses for citizen complaints.
VIII. Next Meeting
April 17, 1985, 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the CIC Room.
