Passed unanimously
The policy will go to City Council for adoption on
March 2, 1993. Jane Nevrivy will represent the
Board.
VII. Challenge Fort Collins update
Challenge Fort Collins as it presently exists will
have its final meeting in March. At that time it
may go in different directions, with perhaps smaller
committees to work on the recommendations. If a
Riverwalk focus group is formed, the Board would
like to have a liason from the Cultural Resources
Board to that group.
VIII. Evaluation of January Fort Fund Granting Process
The Board discussed the funding process and made
several suggestions:
- Have a copy of the guidelines included in
each Board members packet for reference on the
night when grants are discussed
- Concensus is that random drawings for the
evenings schedule is the most fair way
- March agenda item will be to review Fort Fund
guidelines
IX. Other Business
Board members shared their background and interests
as an introduction to new members.
The Commission on Status For Women will hold their
annual workshop for City Council on Boards and
Commissions. They have asked for a representative
from the Cultural Resources Board to attend the
session and give a short presentation. The meeting
will be March loth, 7-9 PM in the City Council
Chambers. Karen Warren was asked to represent the
Cultural Resources Board.

EXHIBITS & COLLECTIONS
The Frank Miller Stagecoach will be transported to the Ordway Conservation Center
administered by the Colorado Historical Society for stabilization. The Westerners
organization has contributed $2,500. A request for financial assistance was submitted to
the Pioneer Association and will be on their April agenda for consideration. The museum
is pleased to recognize the Fort Fund for awarding partial funding for two museum
projects. Eighty plus artifacts which have been on display have now been cataloged and
documented by the collection volunteers under the supervision of Curator Karin Eberhart.
STAFF
Alison White, our Museum Development Officer started work on Tuesday, February
16th. She has started brainstorming on funding possibilities for the grand opening events
and exhibits. Community Service workers assigned to the museum have recorded 160
hours of volunteer service, 80 hours were provided directly to the remodeling project
under the supervision of the Facilities Department.
PHYSICAL FACILITY
Progress on the museum remodel continues. Grand Re -opening will be held in April.
A State Historical fund grant will be submitted to the Colorado Historical Society on
March 1, 1993. Funds are sought for the following work: removing the boarded up
windows and installing ultraviolet and light window filters, addressing the entry way of
the museum building, and erecting vandal resistant interpretive signs for the architectural
park.
PROGRAMS
The last bus tour to Aztec on display at the Denver Museum of Natural History was filled
on February 12th. This tour and lecture series has been enormous success. The museum
hopes to coordinate similar events in the year to come. A girl scout Geology Earn A
Badge Day is scheduled for April 2. A volunteer open house attracted a dozen applicants.
Spring Training for volunteers will begin in March. Volunteers are being actively sought
for the Museum Shop at Library Park.
