a planning process. The cost estimate to conduct a
community wide cultural plan is $42,000 including
professional fees and expenses. Craig Swing moved
to have staff draft a letter for the Board to send
to City Council recommending that if Council is
planning to initiate a Community Wide Cultural Plan
as stated in council's work plan, that they
appropriate $42,000 in the 1994 budget for
hiring a firm to prepare the plan.

FORT COLLINS MUSEUM
APRIL 28, 1993
THE GRAND RE -OPENING CELEBRATION brought 400 people to the
museum on April 16th. Clowns, a Mime, and balloon animals roamed the
galleries as Eagle-Tri 102 did a live broadcast from the Gift Shop. Hot dogs,
peanuts and sodas were served for the festive new exhibit "Under the Big Top".
Alison White, the Museum's Development Officer did a terrific job of raising
$2,100 from local businesses and clubs in support of "Under the Big Top".
The Museum is grateful to Overland Sertoma, Bank One, Ranchway Feeds,
Convention and Visitor's Bureau and Anheuser Busch for their generous
support. "Eskimo Prints and Carvings" is currently on display in the Overland
Trail Room. Both exhibits will be on display through the end of May.
THE MUSEUM SHOP was opened by Eileen Daniel and Deanna Harpham
with sales of $300.00 on the day of the Grand Re -Opening. Our City Manager,
Steve Burkett, was our first shop customer. He was featured on Cable 14.
EXHIBITS
The American Association of University Women Educational Foundation
awarded Joy Poole, (AAUW member) and the Fort Collins Museum $4200.00
to create a temporary portable exhibit about the life of Auntie Stone as
part of the Colorado Centennial Women's Suffrage Event. The final exhibition
place for the exhibit will be the Auntie Stone Cabin in the museum courtyard.

financial support for the Fort Collins Museum. The response has been steady
with just over $1,600.00 in donations to date.
