MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING
Cultural Resources Board
Wednesday, December 1, 1993

I. Call to order (5:15) - Karen Warren
Ii. Consideration of tonight's Agenda
No changes
III. Consideration of minutes of September 29, 1993
Jennifer Beccard moved acceptance
Kathryn Stubler seconded
Passed unanimously
IV. Art -In -Public Places Discussion
Discussion of the proposed ordinance was postponed
until the full Board was present. The Timeline was
discussed with several changes. The concensus was
that this is too important an issue to hurry through
the process. Although timeliness is important the
Board feels that thoroughness is more important.

Susan Ison who is the Administrator for AAP in
Loveland will meet with the E Team on January 5th to
begin the education process with City Staff. Jane
Nevrivy and Karen Warren will attend to represent
the Board.
Staff will contact the liaison to City Council to
see when we can schedule a work session with Council
prior to getting public input.
V.. Joint Meeting
The meeting with Cultural Resources Board and the
Lincoln Center Board will be January 20th at noon at
the Lincoln Center. Lunch will be served.

FT. COLLINS MUSEUM REPORT
CULTURAL RESOURCES BOARD
DECEMBER 1, 1993
STAFF
Some forty volunteers enjoyed breakfast at the Marriott and received recognition for their
contribution to the Fort Collins Museum this past year. The Honorable Ann Azari kicked
off the celebration by acknowledging the work of the volunteers and recognizing the
importance of knowing the heritage and traditions from which this community has
evolved.
PHYSICAL FACILITY
It's beginning to look alot like Christmas because the museum and cabins have been
decorated for the holidays by the volunteers. The community Christmas Tree has lights
and the roof of the museum has the luminarias aglow. The museum has been the
recipient of a $5,000 State Historical Fund gambling tax grant for a new roof on the Janis
cabin and three uniform interpretive signs in the courtyard.
PROGRAMS
Thirty children were scared out of their wits during the Scary Stories and Tall Tales.
Carol Fest is Dec. 9 - featuring the Community Tree of Remembrance by Allnutt Funeral
Services, and Luminarias in Library Park. Last years event attracted over 500 people

EXIIBITS
The museum has been notified that it will be the recipient of an Smithsonian exhibit on
Victorian Gardens. This paneled exhibit has been donated to the museum by SITES. It
will be an attractive exhibit for annual community events like the Jr. League's Summer
Garden Tour.

Lincoln Center Report
December 1, 1993
LIQUOR
Catering Plus got the bid for liquor concessions and will
begin service February llth. 10% of gross proceeds will be
paid to Lincoln Center.
GREAT CHRISTMAS HALL
The Support League took in over $22,000 this year ... an
increase in dollars and an increase in attendance. The League
is considering purchasing a fountain for the Sculpture Garden.
DONATION - CALDER PRINT
The Lincoln Center Design Committee accepted a donation of a
signed and numbered Calder print. It's estimated worth is
$3,000.
FACILITY UPGRADE
Sidewalks on the north side have been partially replaced to
repair root damage which caused cracks and unevenness in
walkways.
Twenty additional IPAS headsets have been purchased have been
purchased by facilities to meet ADA guidelines at the Lincoln
Center.
LINCOLN CENTER BOARD

A joint lunch meeting with the Cultural Resources Board and
the Lincoln Center Board has been set for Thursday, January
20th.
David Siever and Mark Breimhorst will be attending the
Association of Performing Arts Presenters annual booking
conference December 16th through December 21st.
TICKET UPDATE
Vienna Choir Boys and Anne Murray are sold out.
