Call Meeting to Order:
The meeting was called to order by staff liaison Peggy Bowers at 7:10 p.m.
Approval of Minutes from September. 2005
On a motion by Erin Rooney and second by Ryan Hennig, the minutes of the regular meeting on
September 7, 2005 were approved.
Agenda Review:
No changes to the printed agenda.
Citizen Participation:
No citizen participation.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Election of officers was held with Ryan Hennig being elected chair and David Saperstone vice -chair.
REVIEW ADDITION TO THE FARM AT LEE MARTINEZ PARK
Peggy Bowers shared the plans for the addition to The Farm. Construction will begin in early
November and will be completed in the spring of 2006.
BOARD WORK PLAN
Board members developed some preliminary ideas for their work plan. Ideas included
Youth website
Placing notice in the Coloradoan about monthly YAB meetings and guest speakers
Bring in speakers
Gang prevention officers/SROs
City council member (Kurt Kastein) or Mayor
Larimer County Work Force/other employers who hire teens
Critical Skills instructor
DECA/PACE instructors
"What's Happening" Fair
Fund-raiser for Inspiration Playground (band concert/dance....)

COMMUNICATING WITH TEENS
Staff members asked Board members what is the best way to communicate with teens as far as
requesting input or dispersing information. Board members responded that video announcements at
their respective schools are the most effective means of getting information. Sporting events that draw
lots of teens (i.e. football games) would be a good place to publicize activities.
YOUTH ACTIVITY CENTER UPDATE
Peggy Bowers distributed the October calendar along with information about some upcoming special
events.
NORTHSIDE AZTLAN COMMUNITY CENTER UPDATE
Peggy reported that the tutoring program is underway, and the wrestling program will be starting soon.
Preliminary plans for the new NACC will be brought to this Board probably in November.
OTHER BUSINESS
Volunteers are needed for Club 56 and Club 78; contact Kristie Blackmon at the YAC.
Volunteers are needed for Treatsylvania; contact Bridget at The Farm.
ADJOURNMENT
On a motion by Erin Rooney and second by David Saperstone, the Board voted unanimously to
adjourn at 8:15 p.m.
