I The meeting was called to order by Ross Loomis, Chairman.
II The minutes of the March 26 meeting were approved as written.
III Old Town Area Plan Draft
Old Town merchants, property owners and representatives of the Historic
Old Town Planning Camdttee were present at tonight's meeting, to outline to
the Board the Historic Old Town Area Plan Draft and to ask approval of the
plan by the Board and for general support for Old Town's endeavors. Dennis
Swain, Chairman of the Historic Old Town Planning Camattee and Chuck Peterson
(Old Than merchant -Black's Glass), were the spokespersons for Old Town.- Slides
of Old Town, its background and features, were then presented by John Dewhirst
of the City's Planning Dept. Mr. Dewhirst announced that there would be a
public hearing on Old Town on April 28 at the Planning & Zoning Board meeting.
The Cultural Resources Board should send its reeanmendation on the Old Town
Area Plan Draft to City Council via the Planning Dept. and the City Manager.
A public hearing by Council would then be scheduled (hopefully for May).
IV Schoolhouse
Three manbers of the Victorian Questers presented their case to the Board -
in favor of the restoration of the log schoolhouse, which now sits in the court-
yard at the Fort Collins Museum. Discussion followed. Mr. Io mis suggested that
a work session (to include the Board, Mrs. Thexton, Mr. Moroney and a representative
fran Cox -Parker) would be necessary to put together a formal plan and/or
recce rnendation on the Schoolhouse. Mr. Loomis asked the Quester organization
for a letter stating that group's desire that the project for restoration go forward,

A. Announced 1980-81 Arts Series season, which consists of 9 shows plus Fiesta
Hispana 1981.
B. Talked about the upcoming May, 1980 Fiesta Hispana program.
C. Expressed her appreciation and very favorable impression of the recent
Old Town Tour (early morning April 16) for the CRB and Council and other persons,
D. Announced this week to be the last for the Gustave Baumann exhibit at -.

VI Museum report, Brian Moroney, Manacr r
A. Overland Trail Co. sumier rendezvous, coming up in June.
B. "Skookun Day", planned for July, a celebration to eomnelmrate the paving
of Fort Collins' streets in 1916.
C. Colorado/Wyoming Association of Museums conference May 19,

D. In June - Ccnsortium of museums to coordinate touring museum exhibits
(to .reduce exhibit shipping costs).
E. Now on exhibit - Nancy Robinson's wildlife drawings.
F. Next exhibit, in ;June - Northern Colorado Weaver's Guild
G. Field trips planned for this sung:
1. Mills cabin
2: Pony grasslands
3. a third site, to be announced
VII Update on landmark Business
A. The Board's reocmuendation from last month on additions to the Landmark
Ordinance are in the City's legal department now.
B. The Board's reference letter, prepared by Ross Lcmi.s, regarding Vicki.
Sandstead's contribution to historic preservation while cloyed by the City,
was approved by the Board.
C. The Landmarks subcommittee will be on the CRB agenda next month.
The work esssion on the Schoolhouse and the Old Tam Area Plan is
scheduled for Tknrsday, May 1, 4:30 p.m., at the Avery House..
The meeting adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
