Invitation . B. Budget Consideration C. Lincoln Center Liaison D. Jazz Festival William Kneeland, Edwina Echevarria III Consideration of minutes of August 26, 1987 William Kneeland moved to accept minutes as written, seconded by Ruth Hornberger, passed 44). IV Staff Reports Museum - Brian Moroney A written report was distributed - see attached. Highlighted: -Conference - Agnes Dix and Karen Eberhart -Painting done on Boxelder Schoolhouse -Ad to cover future claims against donated Museum articles has been found. Any claims would be handled by City Attorney's Office. -Stagecoach restoration - $8,000 -Ramses II bus tour -Circus Poster Exhibition -Traveling exhibitions - ready to go. Lincoln Center/Performing 6 Visual Arts - David Siever A written report was distributed - see attached. Highlighted: -Showstopper and Dance series update -Staff working on getting underwriting for programs -Birthday Ball - tickets almost gone -Chairman Jones commented on the Poster Exhibition opening and the new sculpture display. Historic Preservation - Edwina Echevarria -Car Barn Designation - will be agenda item next month. -Asked for ideas on a creative reuse for the barn -Gave an update on Ward Smith property -Orientation meeting for new board members - November 18 - she will get back to everyone on exact time. Note: On an item discussed at a previous meeting - the Fossil Creek Master Plan does include an area called an "amphitheatre" and will be an area by the lake on a hillside and could accomodate about 100 people. V Goals and Objectives Work Session Schedule A work session to discuss updating the goals and objectives was set for October 8, 4:00 pm at the Museum. VI Committee Dupdates b Schedules -Old Fort Site Signage - Jane Nevrivy and Jack Curfman have met. It was decided that more description and definate plans were needed. Mr. Curfman to complete and submit for approval. -Museum Sub -Committee - Meeting* set for October 8, 3:00 pm at the Museum -Cult. Svc. 6 Facilities Department orientation for new members - October 13 - 3:00 pm at Lincoln Center. -Incentive Committee - hold until a future time. VII Car Barn Designation - covered under Historic Preservation Staff Report VIII Other Business -Katherine Garcia - distributed invitations to Board -Budget Consideration - there was a discussion about the Board's concerns on the 1988 proposed budget. It was decided that a memo would be written to Council. ACTION: Jane Folsom will draft memo to be brought to goals and objectives meeting. Board will review at that time and memo will go to Council. -Jane Nevrivy was appointed the liaison between the CRB and the Lincoln Center Board of Directors. She will attend monthly meetings on third Thursday at noon. -Ruth Hornberger discussed a concern that related to the Jazz Festival that was funded by the Cultural Development and Programming Account. It was decided to suggest that a member of the CRB and the panel be assigned to each program that is funded to do a more personal followup on each event. Present system asks for a follow up report but it is mostly financial. ACTION: Item will be placed on a future agenda and a recommendation will be made to Council and panel. Mr. Weitz moved to adjourn meeting, seconded by Jane Folsom. Fifth International Poster Exhibition, through November 1, 1987. B. Adventurer With A Camera.- Clatsworthy. November 7, 1987 through January 17, 1987. C. Traveling Cases. LINCOLN CENTER/PERFORMING & VISUAL ARTS REPORT - SEPTEMBER 1987 I Performing Arts A. Series Update -Showstopper Series - 1235 -Dance Series - 286 II Visual Arts A. International Poster Show - 9/17 through 11/1 -Honor Laureate Shigeo Fukuda -Poudre R-1 High School Students -UNESCO 1987 World's Most Memorable Poster USA Competition B. Sculpture Garden - Through April -Bill Swets - Welded Metal Creatures III Capital Projects A. Gallery Wall project completed -funds from LC Support League B. Roof repair project completed IV Donations A. Teledyne Water Pic - $2500 for Indoor Signage in conjunction with their 25th anniversary. A committee consistingof Grant Putney, Cindy Ryk, Ross Loomis and Jack Curfman will formulate plans for the signage. B. Norlarco Credit Union - $2500 to underwrite the film series. V. Other A. WAAA Conference - Mr. Siever and Mr. Breimhorst attended the first of the booking conferences for the Showstopper and Dance Series for the 1988-89 season from 9/7-9/12 B. Birthday Ball - will be held October loth.
