IV. Performing Arts Center update -
City staff will be working with Mr. Halsey North early
next year to begin the fundraising campaign. A grant proposal has
been submitted to the Wilkins Trust to cover the costs of Mr.
North's fees. The goal of the campaign is to raise at least $10
million.
A rendering of the proposed facility is needed for the
fundraising campaign. Staff is planning to have the architectural
firm of Van Dyke, Pace, Westlake design the rendering. The
rendering will be detailed enough to help potential donors
visualize what the Performing Arts Center could look like without
being too precise.
Representatives of the City are continuing to meet with
representatives of Colorado State University to determine the
possibilities of a shared performing arts theatre at CSU's
Performing Arts Campus. CSU has hired an architect to determine
how to maximize the proposed performing arts spaces. Planning is
also going on to try and facilitate the needs of local arts
organizations at CSU's Performing Arts Campus.
