II. Council Report
Ann Azari was asked for feedback on the Commission's Work Plan
for 1992. Ann stated that she thought that it looked fine,
and that specific activities were interesting. She reminded
Commission members that, as an advisory group to Council,
approval is required from Council before taking specific
action.
Ann announced that several Councilmembers will be attending
the National League of Cities Annual Congressional City
Conference, March 7-10. In response to a query on the Sr.
Center, she advised that Council would be receiving a report
on potential site alternatives at the Council Worksession
scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday, February 25).

Minutes of January 27, 1992 were approved as written.

sponsoring a program on "Union Maids - a History of Working
Women" on Sunday, March 8 from 2:00-4:30 p.m. at the Plymouth
Congregational Church on West Prospect.
V. Old Business
Brownie McGraw provided an update on the status of the Youth
Commission proposal. Youth Commission was first recommended
to Council in September of 1990 as a means to address
employment and volunteer issues. At the time, Council did not
wish to take on other Commissions.
Brownie has recently spoken to the new Director of AYC, Arch
Tignor. It may be less costly in terms of time and money to
address specific needs through AYC. AYC would like to work
together with this Commission to develop an action plan to
make this happen. Brownie asked if others were interested in
exploring this issue and Mary and Betty volunteered. Meeting
with AYC was tentatively set for March 6 in the afternoon.
Kathy Faller provided update on status of Boards & Commissions
Workshop scheduled for Wednesday, March 18. Would like to
have at least three people from the Commission at the
workshop.
VI. Adjournment
Commission adjourned regular business meeting at 5:40 p.m
but continued to meet in a retreat format until 9:20 p.m.
