DiTullio.
The meeting was called,to order by President Stewart Case.
Stewart Case welcomed new member Nell Davis to the Golf Board.
Copies of the report on revenue through Augast were passed around and
discussed. It was decided the way things are going now, it will be no problem
to make pay back payments.
Course play record copies were passed arouiv! and discussed. Course
memberships at City Park Niue and Collindale are down. Stewart Case said
this possibly could be attributed to the nine hole fee and the raise in
membership costs.
Nell Davis asked if anything had been done about the wiring in the Club
House building at City Park Nine. They are especially concerned about wiring
in the kitchen. H. R. Phillips said the wiring was not a major danger and
$2,000 was put in next years budget for carpeting and wiring. We will keep
working on the wiring problem to find a way to take care of it all.
Stewart Case said all the requests for next year are still in the budget
and if City Council approves the Capital Fund, we will get them.
Watering at City Park Nine was discussed. li. R. Phillips said John
Benz has to spend too much time sprinkling and a sprinkling system should be
planned to try and work out problems of expense installing it.
The problem of benches was discussed. Some signs are broken at City
Park Niue. We have full charge of the benches now and they will be repaired.
The money for signs will go to the Golf Association. City Park Nine has.
fifteen benches and money from these will be put back in City Park Nine.
Collindale will have the same working order.
Stewart Case also suggested that we should try to impress upon people
we visit with, that golfers have contributed a great deal of their oun money
to the Golf Courses.
New officers were elected as follows;
President - Gary Garwood
Vice President - Bud Crandall
Secretary - Nell Davis
The City Council will be notified of these changes.
A letter was introduced, written by Coach Yaussi, requesting Cross -
Country runners be allowed to use City Park Nine on Saturday, October 5th.
H. R. Phillips asked if the runners are interferriug with Golf at City Park
Niue. After discussion, the Board decided as long as we have other parks
available that we will not allow them to run at City Paris Nine because of good
play, crowded week ends, and te,e safety factor. They can go to F.dora Park.
They are allowed to run at Callindale because of the wide fairways.
Tom Peak said he has had a lot of Cross -Country Skiers in the winter and
would like to have a couple of signs made to keep them off of City Park Nine.
They ski over the greens and it is very harmful to them. N. R. Phillips said
we would publish a notice in the paper also.
Neil Johnson, Golf Superintendent, said he had a fine crew working at
Collindale and they are all interested in their work. They are still having;
pump trouble.
Stewart Case also discussed the meeting with City Council on the budget
for the benefit of Board Members that did not attend. He also informed them
