HomeMy WebLinkAboutGolf Board - Minutes - 01/11/1977GOLF BO.i-M' MEFTINC
January 11, 1977
The meeting was called to order by the President, Bud Crandall. The minutes
of the last meeting were approved as presented.
The Board discussed a letter from Mr. Chavez concerning shoes bought at
Collindale. A copy of the letter was sent to all City Council members and
Golf Board members. Some members felt this was a matter between Mr. Chavez
and the Collindale Pro Shop, not in the jurisdiction of the Golf Board. It
was recommended that merchandise, which are seconds, be advertised as such.
James Mitchell moved the contract for f;he Collindale Concession be put up
for bid. The motion was seconded and passed. Bids will be presented at:
the neat Golf Board meeting. Members suggested a new contract be written
allowing changes to be made on special occasions at the discretion of both
the Concessionaire and parties wishing to use the facilities.
R. R. Phillips questioned the recommendations of the Golf Board concerning
the fees for Collisidale team play and the Women's City Tournament. He will
check on the aspects and this will be discussed at the next meeting.
Bids will be submitted for the new carpet for Coilindals. The Board will
review this at the next meeting.
Board members engaged in a general discussion of the value of the Golf Board
under its present system. It is the general opinion that the Golf Board
should work more closely with the City Council. Members feel a citizen's
Input is very necessary to the success of the golf courses and they should
not be run by only a few persons.
H. R. Phillips feels that one person representing the golf courses could serve
on the Parks and Recreation Board. The Golf Board feels more attention should
be given to recommendations passed by a majority of the Bmerd. All members
are genuinely interested and concerned about the success of all aspects of
both City Golf Courses.
The meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
NELL DAVIS
