II. Consideration of tonight's Agenda

III. Consideration of minutes of December 1, 1993
Amended to change dates of minutes from September
29, 1993 to October 27, 1993

IV. Art -In -Public Places Update
A revised Art -In -Public Places proposal was handed
out. The revisions reflect additional changes and
input from the City Attorney's office.

Susan Ison met with the Executive Lead Team and
discussed Loveland's Art -In -Public places program.
The work session with City Council will be Tuesday
April 12th in the evening. Exact time will be
determined later.
V. Annual Report
The Board reviewed the annual report and made the
following additions:
Statement regarding the Board's activity re:
Art -In -Public places.
Meeting time change from Thursdays at 5:30 to
Thursdays at 5:00.
With those changes the annual report will be
forwarded to the City Clerk's office.
VI. Review of any past Fort Fund events
Verbal reports were given re: Skate Fest
VIZ. Follow-up discussion following Cultural Resources
Board/Lincoln Center Board luncheon
The Board discussed the Riverwalk Study and its
relation to a new Cultural Center. A letter will be
drafted and sent to Mike Powers reflecting the
Board's desire that the River study include the
feasibility of Cultural components located along the
River.
VIII. Attendance at Cultural Resources Board Meetings
The Board discussed the importance of members making
efforts to attend all Board meetings. It is
difficult when members miss meetings to bring
everyone up to date.

Deborah will be meeting with Karla Niedan
to gain a better understanding of the
Convention and Visitors Bureau and it's
relation to the Cultural Resources Board

LC/CSU Facilities Committee - Karen Warren
This committee is on hold pending further input
from Colorado State University

XI. Fort Fund Considerations
The Board heard from organizations regarding
their Fort Fund application grants. Following
that, the Board made recommendations for Fort
Fund grants (See attached). The
recommendations will be taken to City Council
for final approval on February 15th. Jane
Nevrivy will be at Council to represent the
Board.

CULTURAL RESOURCES BOARD
1993 in REVIEW
STAFF
Museum staff has been fortunate to attend professional development conferences. Alison
White attended the National Society of Fund Raising Executives in Boston, Joy Poole
attended the American Association of Museum Annual Meeting in Fort Worth and the
Museum Store Association Meeting in Denver. Karin Eberhart attended the Colorado
Wyoming Association of Museum conference in Colorado Springs. Agnes Dix and Karin
Eberhart attended the Mountain Plains Museum Association annual meeting in Colorado
Springs. In addition, numerous staff meetings with held with David Siever and Suzanne
Jarboe Simpson this past summer to work on unifying the staff towards common goals.
PHYSICAL FACILITY
The museum underwent a remodel in 1994 which resulted in centralize administrative
services and new professional offices for the staff. A gift shop was constructed and a
new combination sales area and receptionist area developed. The eastern portion of the
Trolley Car Barn received a $50,000 appropriation for museum storage renovation.
PROGRAMS
Ten interpretive programs were held. These included the Wednesday Night at the
Museum series, summer reading programs and two holiday programs. In addition,
three cultural bus tours were taken to AZTEC & VATICAN TREASURES. One
hundred school tours were given to 2nd and 4th graders. The grand re -opening was a
major reception attracting 400 people. Both the historic preservation week mixer and the
Carol Fest were well received by the community.
SHOP
The Museum Shop opened in April. 1100+ volunteer hours were contributed to the
shop. $10,418 was generated our first year. Our merchandise mix continues to be refined
and tailored for the Fort Collins community and tourists.
EXHIBITS & PROGRAMS
Ten exhibits were shown. To name but a few, they ranged from Under the Big Too, to
the historic preservation exhibit What So Proudly We Hail, onto the U.S. premiere of
30 posters on Environment and Development, and ending with Elizabeth Stone:
Grande Dame of Fort Collins.
All in all the Fort Collins Museum has had a very successful year attracting
some 20,846 residents, school children and tourists.

OUTREACH
Four workshops will be presented in schools during the
Minnesota Children's Theatre tour of "Rebecca of Sunnybrook
Farm".
Thurs 10 a.m. - Olander Elementary
Thurs 10 a.m. - Werner Elementary
Fri 10 a.m. - Kruse Elementary
Fri 10 a.m. - Garfield Elementary (Loveland)
Each workshop consists of three actors from the company,
discussing and demonstrating theatre technique.
FACILITY
A Rosco dance floor has been purchased for use in the
Performance Hall and Mini -Theatre.
TICKET UPDATE
Marvin Hamlisch - sold out 3 performances
Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm - sold out 4 performances
Doug Varone - 476 tickets
Best Little Whorehouse - 2970 tickets
PERSONNEL
Jennie Baran, who was the Building & Event Supervisor, has
been hired to replace Cindy Ryk as the new Scheduling
Coordinator.
Matt Stilwell has been hired to replace Scott McBride as Set-
up Technician.
VISUAL ARTS
Currently on exhibit in the Intimate Gallery are landscape
drawings and paintings of two Boulder artists. The Lobby
exhibit features the work of two artists who experiment with
the materials they use; printing with colored clay, drawing
with a typewriter and an installation of pennies. Doug Fey
shows the range of his ceramic work in the showcase in the
Walkway Gallery.
SPECIAL EVENT
Coloradoan and Lincoln Center are co -sponsoring a concert by
Air Force Academy Band of the Rockies. Reserved seats, which
will be free to the public, will be available February 14th.
