VISUAL ARTS
The 33rd annual Poudre valley Art League Show is currently on
exhibit. The show is national this year with over 1100
entries from 39 states. One hundred forty five pieces were
accepted for showing in which 16 Fort collins artists are
featured. There was $5000 in cash prize money this year.
A video security system has been installed in the Intimate and
Lobby Galleries. The system has two functions; first
primarily as a deterrent to "unpremeditated theft" (the kind
that most often occurs at the Center) and two, if theft occurs
we will hopefully have pictures of the suspects.
PERFORMING ARTS
All series shows have been set for the 1994-1995 season.
Ballet Eddy Touissant replaced New Amsterdam Ballet.
Renewals have gone out to Showstoppers patrons. Other
renewals will follow on a staggered basis to avoid long lines
at the Box Office.
The FAC concert series will be held this summer on June 10,
17, and 24. The Coloradoan and TRI-102 Radio will sponsor
these fundraising events which have been named "Lincoln Center
Patio Parties." These events will feature food, drink and
live music and will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A new dimmer system will be installed in June at a cost of
$53,696. This money was budgeted by the Facilities Department
as a replacement for our old system which was very outdated.
This takes our lighting system from the analog to the digital
world. This system change -over has become increasingly
important over the last few years because of the
sophistication of the technology used by touring productions.
ADMINISTRATIVE
The 1995 City Budget is due on June 3rd. Because of healthy
sales tax revenue, the Budget Office is projecting a 3%
increase.
