Minutes:
Approved as written.
Announcements:
* This is Laima's last meeting. A replacement has not been chosen yet.
Business Items:
* A meeting was held with Dana Shea -Reid & Jaime Mares regarding the budget. A
historical perspective for the idea and design of the survey was given and it was
reiterated how the line item budget came about. Jaime & Dana were very supportive
and will continue monetary support for the survey. The initial memo from 1994 that
denied the budget request was not known about until recently. Janet Duval verbalized
her support at the kick-off. A memo outlining the request will be sent by liaison to the
County Commissioner for monetary support. Doreen will oversee the memo. $10,000
was encumbered. Jaime will come up with $4,000-$5,000 if the County can't help with
printing costs.
* Time line Update - copies will be distributed. Not that far off time line. Karen is doing
training for 10 female interviewers; two dropped out. Will basically give interviewers
surveys to be completed. They may go into the field next week. They are set up on
payroll, the binders and badges are here and the copies are done for interviewers.
Libby James will be doing the technical writing for the report. Research used to
develop the questionnaire needs to be turned in to the Human Resources drop box by
June 3, 1996. Information that really deserves Libby's attention needs to be
highlighted. Diane Lathrop will get information from the State regarding child supportaftcZ
maintenance.
It was mentioned that the number of Caesarean births done at PVH that are over the
ceiling may be an interesting study.

* Marcile N. Wood Award - Diane Lathrop, 14 m Sterkel and Stephanie Lane volunteered

application and have copies made, mail letters, get plaque ready, create certificates,
etc. They also need to decide who reviews applications. The award will probably
presented in September.
* Annual Retreat - Some ideas for the retreat are: having a catered dinner, having a
refresher on processing, problem solving, coaching, etc. A topic and location will be
picked at later date. October 21 st from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m. is the tentative date.
* Elections will be in July when new members come on board. Martha Sanders and Jo
Ann Ginal volunteered for the nominating committee. The responsibilities of the
nominating committee include: soliciting people to run for office, soliciting a statement
and creating a ballot. The statement should go out in a packet before the meeting.
Adjourn:
The next meeting is June 17, 1996. Meeting adjourned at 8:34 p.m.
