The EXECUTIVE DELEGATION COMMITTEE shall...
Provide problem resolution of urgent issues brought to the HRC.
Delegate issues for resolution to standing or to special committees.
Become informed about human relations issues within Fort Collins and to take appropriate action.
Provide support to other HRC committees as needed.
Determine meeting agendas for monthly HRC meetings and special meetings.
The GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE shall...
Along with all H.R.C. members, serve in the Citizen Liaisons Program to assist citizens in filing complaints with
Fort Collins Police Services and the Human Rights Office
Maintain a list of interpreters to assist with translation in filing complaints
Coordinate with Police Services to train people in the Citizen Liaison Program and to allow effective utilization of
the program within the complaint process.
Along with all H.R.C. members, monitor City Council agendas and attend or view meetings as appropriate,
monitoring the Community Open Mike period at the beginning of Council sessions.
Attend Citizen Review Board meetings and provide assistance upon itsrequest.
Help to educate citizens and recommend actions which promote positive relations among community members,
Fort Collins Police Services and the Citizen Review Board
Review proposed legislation, policy changes or other governmental action at the federal, state or local level
which may affect human rights in the city and make recommendations regarding the same.
Continue to monitor, update and analyze board and commissions diversity data.
Research and recommend actions necessary to achieve: equal employment opportunities; equal housing
opportunities; equal public accommodation opportunities and the best possible Fort Collins
government/community relations in all fields of government.
The MEDIA COMMITTEE shall...
Plan the awards ceremony for the HRC (Breakfast) at least one year in advance.
Increase the visibility of the HRC via communication with local radio, newspaper, and TV stations, organizations,
corporations, and citizen groups.
Increase cross multicultural and diversity communication with other Human Relations Groups in Northern
Colorado to one — two visits per year.
Collaborate with other HRC Committees to Increase our participation in presentations and in the city forums and
panel discussions via collaboration and better communication with other city diversity and multicultural
organizations.
Plan and host one forum per year recorded by Channel 27 with at least one HRC member.
Prepare and submit, on time, monthly articles to The Coloradoan. Discuss themes for these articles more often
and formulate a collaborated list. Reduce the turn around time for approval of articles and columns.
The EDUCATION COMMITTEE shall...
Increase the visibility of the HRC.
Make new connections with other organizations.
Increase our collaboration with new and existing committees and organizations in Fort Collins.
Contact and work with a minimum of three City Boards and Commissions. The focus would be with
commissions related to human relations. The commissions we would like to explore are, but not limited to;
disability, status of women, seniors, youth and the Council on Aging.
Contact and work with Poudre School District and School Board members.
Hold community Coffee Talks to discuss various topics in the community.
Continue to update our general presentation and brochure and keep current with City events.
