2006 Work Plan & Meeting Schedule
2006 Meeting Schedule
Regular meetings of the General Employees' Retirement Committee (GERC) are scheduled for
the second Thursday of every month and are held at 215 North Mason in conference room 2A
beginning at 1:15pm. The 2006 GERC meeting schedule is:
January 12 April 13 July 13 October 12
February 9 May 11 August 10 November 9
March 9 June 8 September 14 December 14
2006 GERC Work Plan
■ Prepare 2006 GERC Annual Report for City Council prior to January 31, 2007.
• Elect Officers and Review GERC standing rules in February, 2006.
• Continue Monitoring of Retirement Philosophy and determine what additional
contributions must be made to the Plan in light of recent major losses.
■ Revise actuarial assumptions prior to April 1, if necessary.
• Distribute `Personal Retirement Planning Statement' forms in April 2006.
• Complete and Distribute Revised Member Handbooks in April 2006.
■ Review Quarterly Investment Reports.
• Review legislative issues with actuarial consultant and support staff.
• Conduct annual review of actuarial consultant services in June, 2006.
• Prepare Work Plan for 2007 by November 30, 2006.
• Provide educational opportunities for GERP members when needed.
• The web site for the General Employees' Retirement Committee will be monitored,
updated as needed, and the minutes of the meetings will be posted once they have been
approved and signed.
