The letter written by Chairman Ed Chilcott about the Tax Equalization Program was
read and distributed to the Senior Citizens Coordinating Commission. It was also
sent to our State Representatives and Senators.
Resignations have been accepted from Ed Martin and Ginny Dunford. Their service has
been appreciated.
John McGraw reported that we have three vacancies on the Senior Citizens Coordinating
Commission. Chairman Ed Chilcott asked Ann Azari to contact Kodak Personnel to see
if any retirees or those near retirement are interested in serving on the Commission.
There are approximately eight potential applications on file.
Darryl Farrington reported on Legal Services for senior citizens. This was brought
up at the October Bar Association meeting. Many lawyers have wealthy senior citizens
clients and would react negatively. Also legal fees are sometimes adjusted for senior
citizens on a limited income. This topic was responded to positively. A motion was
made that the Legal Services topic be tabled until we get more information. It is
necessary for us to know which lawyers are willing to receive half fee for senior
citizens clients and which are not. Darryl was asked to obtain a list of lawyers and
to draft a letter for our next meeting.
